Job Summary
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and development of applications, ensuring they are built in a decoupled, scalable, usable, with security for a large enterprise. You will play a critical role in harmonizing our development stacks and setting the direction for our software development teams to align with our software development strategy. This is a full-time position, offering the flexibility of working remotely.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of talented Systems Solution Architects responsible for custom application builds, providing guidance and support in designing and implementing innovative solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute application build software development strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Drive the harmonization of application development stacks, promoting best practices and standardization across the organization.
- Oversee the design and development of custom build applications, ensuring they are built once and reusable, maximizing efficiency and reducing redundancy.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Understand and know when to apply the following architectural patterns; Microservice, Event Driven, Reactive, Service Oriented, and Layered
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to software development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural principles and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in Systems Engineering and Solution Architecture.
- Must have recent application build experience with custom applications including full stack and data model experience.
- Proven track record of successfully leading software custom application development teams and delivering complex projects.
- Strong expertise in designing applications with a focus on build once and reuse.
- Extensive experience in harmonizing development stacks and driving standardization.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Must have a foundation of Software Engineering and hands-on expertise with
Serverless architecture (AWS Lamda or Azure Functions)
Modern Javascript-based web frameworks (e.g. React, Angular)
Building solutions using Node.js backend services
Enterprise Integration technologies and patterns including REST APIs, streaming Kafka, messaging protocols JMS/AMQPm, GraphQL
